With an average efficiency exceeding 22%, our solar cells generate up to 50% more energy per surface area compared to conventional solar cells, whose efficiency is 14-15%. They also generate two to three times more energy than that generated by thin film products.
This advanced technology was first marketed in 2004 and since then has enabled our customers to significantly increase the amount of solar energy obtained from a specific deck. Increased energy production means better financial performance and the great satisfaction of the reduced carbon footprint.
In addition to a conversion efficiency of sunlight to electricity higher, SunPower technology also provides better solar performance in real conditions of solar energy products convencionales.2 This means that customers of SunPower may have a greater generation electricity (kWh) over the year, higher than that obtained with a conventional solar system the same power rating (kW).
